Frequently Asked Questions

How is payment handled?

If you are ordering an item directly from my store page, the payment processors are PayPal and Amazon. If it's a custom order, I email a PayPal invoice.

Do you accept returns?

If you're not happy with your order, I'm not happy either and will do my best to correct any problems. With unused items, I accept returns with refund or will do a replacement, unless I state otherwise when you place your order (such as a special custom project). Resizing is also free if your items need minor sizing adjustment (please contact me first before sending the item back for resizing).

If you have any issues with your order, please always contact me first and give me a chance to address the problem.

Can you use different types of wool by request?

Yes. I usually use a Peruvian Highland Wool yarn, (from Corriedale/Merino cross sheep, for both durability and softness) and it is ethically sourced. But, I can substitute other ethically sourced yarns I have access to by request; such as a pure Merino or Alpaca. I also have a Superwash version of the wool if you don't want to handwash your items. Please note that pure Merino, Alpaca, and Superwash are more expensive, so it will make the item(s) cost more.

How to wash woolen items?

I include a washing and care sheet with each order, but in short: Hand wash wool items in a mild laundry detergent and lay them flat to dry. Here is my blog post with the detailed instructions based on 1910 and 1942 instructions in my historical knitting books.

For those with fragrance/chemical allergies, I also am sensitive to chemicals and use fragrance free products. Please contact me if you have any questions. I know how difficult it can be to find products made in a fragrance free environment, so I hope to accommodate you. I also have a smoke free environment and no pets except a fancy mouse who is not allowed around my work or supplies.
